Citizens Against Homicide Asking to Keep Murderer Behind Bars

A writ of Habeas Corpus was filed by Gary Eccher, murderer of Lianne Lando, with the Orange County Superior Court. Judge Craig E. Robison granted the writ. Procedurally, time constraints make it necessary to request that your letters of opposition to any consideration of parole suitability for Gary Eccher be sent today. Although we encourage letters be written in your own words, a pre-written letter is being provided for "copy and paste" purposes.

Letters should be addressed (individually), to the following recipients:

GOVERNOR JERRY BROWN
STATE CAPITOL BUILDING
SACRAMENTO, CA 95814
and to
CHAIRPERSON, BOARD OF PAROLE HEARINGS
P.O. BOX 4036

SACRAMENTO, CA 95812-4036

RE:  GARY JAMES ECCHER
       CDC# - D-36746

DEAR (RECIPIENT):

On August 10, 1985, Gary Eccher brutally murdered Lianne, Lando.  He bludgeoned her, strangled her, submerged her in water and electrocuted her.  God only knows the suffering and horror Lianne experienced during her dying moments.  Gary Eccher demonstrated a complete lack of remorse for the murder of Lianne Lando and total disregard for human life.

On January 24, 2011, the U.S. Supreme Court stated, "There is no right under the federal Constitution to be conditionally released before the expiration of a valid sentence and the state's are under no duty to offer parole to their prisoners - that should have been the beginning and the end."  It is believed that this statement by the U.S. Supreme Court is applicable in rendering a decision to find Gary Eccher unsuitable for parole.

On behalf of the Lando family, I am adamantly opposed to any consideration of parole suitability for convicted murderer, Gary Eccher.  To approve parole suitability would, again, victimize Lianne Lando's family and reward her murderer.

PLEASE DO NOT ALLOW THIS CONVICTED MURDERER OUT OF PRISON!

Thank you for your consideration.

(YOUR NAME)
