In a 2007 Connecticut home invasion that occurred at the residence of Dr. William Petit, the doctor’s wife and two daughters were murdered at the hands of two paroled burglars. The second perpetrator, Joshua Komisarjevsky, will join his accomplice, Steven Hayes, on death row. The jury handed down their death penalty decision late last week.

The second case discussion will focus on the recent sentencing of former Governor Rod Blagojevich who received a sentence of 14 years for trying to sell President O’Bama’s senate seat.

Weleetka, supposedly after an argument with her fiance, Kevin Sweat. Sweat was subsequently arrested and confessed to her murder, telling officials that her remains were buried off of Highway 75. In early August, 2011, searchers found human bone fragments, pieces of clothing and glasses consistent with Ashley’s on the property of Kevin Sweat’s father, near Weleetka.

Gabe Caporino of Westchester, NY, a General Foods executive and U.S. Navy veteran, disappeared on March 7, 1974 during a business trip to New Orleans. The late Mr. Caporino, declared dead in 1979, was a production supervisor for General Foods plants around the country, from New Jersey to Texas. His case was the subject of a CBS documentary with reporter Chris Borgen, NYPD narcotics detective, retired. The program aired a number of times on Eye On New York beginning in May 1974.
