Unsolved Murder of 2 Boys

Note: Newspaper reports give the children's ages as 12 & 14. Their sister, Patricia Jackson, states they were nine and 12. We are using Patricia's numbers.

On September 23, 1990, brothers Derrick Jackson, age 9, and James Edwards, age 12,  were shot and killed by an intruder in their McKinney Street apartment in Vernon, Texas. The boys were asleep in the living room when the killer entered in the early morning hours. The assailant also shot their mother, Linda Jackson, in the head, but the bullet only grazed her. She was shot two more times as she attempted to get away, but managed to escape from the apartment. Another of Linda's sons, 23-year-old Raymond Jackson, who was asleep in a back bedroom, exited through a window when he heard the gunshots. He was not wounded in the attack. Police reports indicate no forced entry into the home.

Patricia Jackson states that Raymond has a drug history and believes he knows who committed the two murders. She and Raymond are not on speaking terms.

Linda has told Patricia that she can't remember anything about that night. And she is currently living with Raymond.

Missing Kelly Rothwell

We will be examining the case of missing Florida Police Cadet, Kelly Rothwell with Monica Caison of CUE Center for Missing Persons

On Wednesday, April 13th, missing Florida Police Cadet Kelly Roth will not be graduating with her class. The St. Pete Police Academy is scheduled to graduate its spring class of recruits. Kelly Rothwell's name is listed among the students, with the notation: "Not in attendance." There will be a candlelight vigil and prayer circle to honor Kelly Rothwell following the 6 p.m. graduation ceremony.

A month has passed since Kelly confronted David Perry. She didn't take anyone with her when she told the former New York Corrections Officer, it was over, she was ending their relationship. Maybe if she did, the outcome would be different. Violent offenders, in some situations, will back down and do nothing when someone else is watching. Had Kelly Rothwell brought a few friends to the condo that evening, the cowardly Perry would have tucked his tail between his legs and waited for another opportunity to catch her alone.  (http://murphymilanojournal.com)
