Dottie Laster: Human Trafficking 101

Recently the headlines touted a large sweep across 77 cities in the US as FBI and local law enforcement agencies rescued 105 underage minors from the grip of human trafficking. Also arrested in the raid were 150 pimps. Has this annual raid made a dent in the national problem? Hardly. While it's admirable that 105 children have been rescued, there are thousands that have already taken their place on the streets being sold to anyone with the money to pay for sex.

Questions now arise from the general public who have limited knowledge of the magnitude of the issue of sex trafficking and how it's impacting every city and town in the world. They want to know many things, including "how does this happen?"

Dottie Laster, Laster Global Consulting,Human Trafficking,ImaginePublicityDottie Laster of Laster Global Consulting and the Bernardo Kohler Center will be on hand for the hour to answer questions and  impart important information for every family to learn.

Laster has explained that cases coming to her have shifted in focus during the last year. While usually dealing with a lot of vulnerable and marginalized people who have been rescued from captivity, she's being contacted by upscale, stable families reporting their children have been lured into the sex trade. How does this happen to well adjusted, academically successful kids?

Dottie Laster explains the “Romeo pimp“ and how he/she is able to literally invade the thought processes of otherwise intelligent youth, usually girls, using standard seduction techniques until he has her thinking she is in a loving relationship. She has written extensively on the subject and has given numerous presentations to high school and college students in an all out effort to educate them about the dangers, red flags, and proper reporting procedures.
“Human trafficking, and how it claims it’s victims, is one of the most critical messages our youth needs to hear in order to become aware of the tactics traffickers use; to lure them into dangerous situations, how they gain their trust, leading them into a world they never knew existed.”

Dottie Laster is a nationally recognized expert in the field of human trafficking. She has been trained by the Department of Justice to train law enforcement on human trafficking. She has been the architect and leader of human trafficking task forces and coalitions in many cities in Texas and California. In her career she has been directly and indirectly responsible for the rescue and service of over 200 victims of trafficking in the United States. She is credentialed to practice immigration law through the Bernado Kohler Center.

Dottie Laster is featured in the documentary on sex trafficking in Latin bars and cantinas, The Cantinera, and will be the subject of an upcoming television show tentatively titled Project Red Light. She has been the subject of many articles in Texas Monthly, MORE Magazine, and most recently Town Hall Magazine. She is the recipient of numerous awards, including the "Hero Award" from Youth for Human Rights International in 2013.

Dottie Laster is available to give presentations to all grade levels and classes, as well as law enforcement and government agencies, organizations, churches and community groups.

Baby Lisa Irwin,Crime Wire, ImaginePublicity
How does a beautiful, blonde, blue eyed baby disappear out of her bed in the wee hours of the morning? This is the story told about the disappearance of Baby Lisa Irwin, whom her parents say was snatched from  her bed in Kansas City, MO by unknown abductors.
Lisa’s mother, Deborah Bradley, and her father, Jeremy Irwin discovered Baby Lisa missing after Jeremy returned from work the morning of October 4, 2011. It’s widely reported that Bradley claims she checked on Lisa at around 6:30 the night before and  she was asleep in her bed, but it’s also reported that Bradley had been drinking heavily that night with others in her home.
The case quickly became “high profile” and the parents’ every move scrutinized by the press, and their statements analyzed by Peter Hyatt for signs of deception.
The parents have appeared on several popular news shows to explain the circumstances and to appeal for Lisa’s return from her abductors.
Was Lisa abducted?

Statement analyst, Peter Hyatt, has followed the case of Hailey Dunn from the very beginning, honing in on statements made in interviews by the missing 13 year old’s mother and others.

Hailey Dunn,Crime Wire,Peter Hyatt,ImaginePublicity
Hailey Dunn went missing on December 27, 2010 while allegedly walking to a friend’s house in broad  daylight in Colorado City, Texas. She was reported missing by her mother, Billie Jean Dunn.
The case quickly turned bizarre with accusations of drugs, child porn, failed polygraphs and Hailey’s mother, Billie Jean Dunn, being named a person of interest in her daughter’s disappearance, along with her live-in boyfriend.
Peter Hyatt has painstakingly combed through interviews by several people connected to the case and has found deception in their words where truth should have prevailed.
In his latest post on the case, Hyatt contends that Billie Jean Dunn may have taken her “story” from a previous missing child case reported in TruTV’s Crime Library. The similarities between the cases of Carlie Bruscia and Hailey Dunn are worth looking into.
Where is Hailey Dunn? Was she abducted, was she sold to human traffickers, was she murdered and disposed of so well that after almost two years her remains have not been found?
Questions still go unanswered, especially the one to which everyone needs an answer, where is Hailey Dunn?

Peter Hyatt works with law enforcement, private citizens, attorneys, and other organizations, particularly on missing persons cases.  Peter frequently works consulting with law enforcement throughout the country.
“Although Statement Analysis is of great value to an investigator, it is also a great tool for counselors, therapists, human resources, educators, and all those interested in truth.  Equally valuable for private life, the ability to discern truth from deception is something that can be learned, practiced, and excelled at.  In fact, everyone from junior high principals to parents need to learn to discern truth from fiction.” …..Peter Hyatt

Crime Wire: Statement Analyst, Peter Hyatt, Updates the Case of Missing 6 year old, Isabel Celis

Where is Isabel Celis?

6 year old Isabel Celis has been missing from Tuscon, AZ since April.  Children reported missing usually get top priority from law enforcement, and national and local media outlets.  This case seems to have grown cold, and when information dries up, so does the media coverage and investigations.
Sergio and Rebecca Celis, parents of Isabel who reported her kidnapped from her bedroom, remained silent in the beginning of the investigation, but decided later, and urged by police, to speak out about their missing daughter. Much can be gleaned from their statements to the press.
There is blood evidence, prank 911 calls, the father restricted from seeing his other children and family, and yet, no arrests, and more importantly, no clues on where Isabel Celis may be.
Many theories are floating around about possible human trafficking, sexual assault, and who the kidnappers could be, but nothing in the way of concrete evidence seems to be leading authorities to answers.
Peter Hyatt has covered the case extensively and will update listeners on the latest developments as well as discuss what statements those surrounding the case reveal.  Is the truth being told?
